We know a lot about bats so we think we should share it with you.

1. Bat use echolocation to find their food.

2.You shouldn’t be afraid of bats because they see better in the dark than you do.

3.The largest bat is the Hamilayan Flying Fox.

4.The smallest bat is the kitti’s Hog-nosed bat (bumblebee bat).

5.their are more than 50 kinds of bats.

6.Bats come in all different shapes, sizes, and colours.

7.Bats can eat more than 600 mosquitoes an hour.

8.Vampire bats don’t suck blood- they lick it.

9.Bats are the only mammals that really fly.

10.NEVER disturb bats when they are hibernating.

Today we are talking about Nova Scotia. We have learned:

• The first boat ever made in Nova Scotia was the Bluenose. It crashed into the Navy and that is why they made the Bluenose 2.
• Their fossil is called the Hylonomus Lyelli.
• Their gem is called the Agate.
• Nova Scotia is the official home of blueberries.
• Nova Scotia’s tree is the red spruce.
• The capital city is Halifax.
• The provincial flower is the Mayflower.
• The provincial dog is the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrever. ( and no it is not a duck.)
